Air Filter Sanitary
Other suggested uses:
Airlock: The most common use might be as an airlock on any kind of fermenter. Unlike other small sanitary filters, this unit fits perfectly into a stopper. Works great for conical fermenters like the "Fermentap" where displaced air is taken in when samples are taken or sediment is dumped. Using the sanitary filter as an airlock also eliminates the concern of air being drawn back in as hot liquid cools and contracts in the fermenter. Not appropriate for long term storage of beer or wine as it is not an oxygen barrier.
Inline Aeration/Oxygenation Filter: Will filter contaminants out of oxygen or air when used with an oxygenation or aeration system. Connect inline between pump/O2 tank and diffusion stone.
Hand Pumps: Filter sanitizes air going back into the cask. Extends shelf life of ale up to two weeks!
Storage: Use a little tinfoil on the "In" of the filter and store in air-tight bag, such as a Ziploc, in a dry place with minimal moisture exposure.
About the Inline Sanitary Air Filters: There is an "in" and "out" port on this air filter. The direction you choose does not affect the filter's performance; however, note which way you first push air through as it must always stay this way.
CAUTION: The filter should never get wet; DO NOT sanitize by submerging in sanitizer. To clean the outside, use our 8060 Cleaner/Degreaser or other surface sanitizer. Air filter should be replaced at least once per year. Discard if there are any signs of discoloration.
